Benjamin Hill Park and Pool
The Benjamin Hill Park and Pool is a recreational area which includes a public pool, playground, basketball and tennis courts, and a 1/5-mile gravel walking trail. The on-site pool house includes restrooms, showers, an indoor seating area, and a snack bar. Visitors may bring their own food and drinks to enjoy. Check the Town of Shirley website for the pool rules and hours of operation. Be aware that the Pool will close in the case of unfavorable weather conditions, such as thunderstorms.

The Butterfly Place
A winding pathway through an atrium filled with flowers, koi fish, and quail allows visitors to walk among butterflies from all over the world. Staff members are available for questions and “show and tell” demonstrations. A continuously running video explains the butterfly life cycle, and exhibits enable visitors to observe eggs, caterpillars, cocoons and chrysalides with information about each species. A gift shop is on the premises. There is a public picnic area and free parking is available.

Davis Farmland
Davis Farmland is a seven-generation, working family farm, continuously in operation since 1846 in Sterling, MA. Starting in 1996, Davis Farmland has provided opportunities for discovery and play to families with children 12 years old and younger. It has a Waterspray Park; Imagine-Acres; Adventureland; interactions with farm animals; and a “Mega Maze” in the fall. It is also home to the largest sanctuary of endangered farm animals in North America. Special events include hands-on reptile shows. Hours change with the season. New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium is home to thousands of aquatic animals, from the giant Pacific octopus to Northern fur seals to little blue penguins. They offer a wide range of exhibits, including a shark and ray touch tank and the Giant Ocean Tank, a four-story coral reef featuring hundreds of Caribbean animals. In addition, they have an IMAX theatre and run whale watch boat excursions in partnership with Boston Harbor Cruises from April through November.
